Our Mission

Ms. Stefany, Director of Shine Bright Tutoring, is fantastic with the little ones and has mastered connecting with students to keep them engaged during tutoring sessions. She graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from the University of Texas Medical Branch. She has over 10 years of tutoring experience, including supporting students with dyslexia, learning disabilities, autism, emotional disturbance, ADHD,  traumatic brain injury, and speech impairment. She has a passion for math and enjoys helping to make it fun for her students. Ms. Stefany enjoys fun, innovative learning and brings effective, instructional strategies to the team.

 Ms. Mechelle, Director of Shine Bright Tutoring, has 29 years of experience in education. She graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Communication and Masters degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision, both from the University of Houston.  Ms. Mechelle holds several certifications including Elementary 1-8, Special Education Pre-K-12, ESL Pre-K-12, and  Principalship K-12. She is also a certified reading specialist and online instructor. She leads the Shine Bright Testing Team and communicates frequently with parents about their student's progress. 

Mrs. Gaten, Educational Consultant for Shine Bright Tutoring, has 49 years of experience in education. She graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education from Texas Southern University. She holds certifications in Elementary Grades 1-8 and Pre-K-KG. Mrs. Gaten is a Reading Interventionist for Houston ISD and enjoys helping improve academic achievement of students. She is a master teacher and reading specialist. Mrs. Gaten has a deep understanding of how students learn and a special gift for motivating students. She stresses the importance of creating and maintaining a positive learning environment for all students, regardless of academic and behavioral challenges.
